This is me.

You know when you start a new job or a new class and the instructor decides to throw in one of those dreaded “get to know your peers” icebreakers?  I always hated those-“everyone stand up and introduce yourself”, yadda yadda yadda.  Well, as I start this new adventure of blogging, I decided to google popular icebreakers.  One of the top results was to “find 10 things that you have in common within a group of people”.  Reading this automatically took me back to a moment in time, before I even started on my path to becoming an occupational therapist.  When I was a college student, a wise occupational therapist once gave me some great advice that has stuck with me through the years. “Always find a connection.  If you do that, you can make an impact”. So, here it goes-my icebreaker.  I’m going to list 10 things about myself in the hopes that you can find a connection, something we have in common...

-I’m 28 years old

-I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA (GO PENS)

-I spent 2 wonderfully, eye opening years living in Bonn, Germany

-I come from a long line of Penn State graduates, myself having graduated with a B.S. degree in Biobehavioral Health in 2013

-I am passionate about people---meeting people, talking with people, laughing with people and helping people

-My passion led me to graduate with my master’s degree in occupational therapy from Chatham University in 2015

-I work as a pediatric occupational therapist in Rochester, New York.

-I love going to the beach, traveling and photography

-I love food

-I have struggled for years with chronic health issues

Why a food blog?

Over the years, i've moved, changed jobs, ended relationships, started relationships and have struggled with balancing stress/chronic health issues.  Change is a definite in life.  Which means, there is always a chance for us to change; our habits, our health, our state of mind.  It's not always easy.  But with my blog, i hope to inspire, educate and bring awareness of how easy it really is to make small changes, eat real food and work towards being the best you.
